My family has been living in Hanoi for 300 years passing down through 14 generations, witnessing the history as well as modern period so we are positioned to share with you our lovely historical Hanoi.

Spend a few days with us, going to buy food in the local market, prepare Chezlinhlinh Nem (Spring Roll with various ingredients) and enjoy the local cuisine, drink a cup of lotus tea or Vietnamese coffee. You will enjoy and learn more about our Hanoi than staying in a standard guest house or hotel.

Our Homestay Story Began:

13 years ago a friend of mine Manh Ha, made an adventure trip with me by motorbike on a rainy day to Noi Bai Airport of Hanoi to pick-up Marie and Tanguy. I welcomed and hosted them in my old and small house and shared with them a Vietnamese meal. In the occasion of our one-month anniversary of my niece Thanh Tuyen, first grand-daughter in my family marked the beginning of our tourism experience in Hanoi.  Along with my very good friend Le Quang, we took the group throughout Hanoi and Halong Bay.

Marie and Tanguy gave me the idea of “Home Stay” when they welcomed me in Belgium and introduced me to their kind families three years later. We did not know the concept of home stay at that time, and now we want to welcome visitors with that same experience.  Marie and Tanguy began their relationship at our humble home and they now have two lovely daughters, Aline and ??.  So we have therefore named our home “Chezlinhlinh”, the House of Love.

I would like to thank my wife Nguyen Thu Thuy who shared the same idea and passion of making a Home Stay in Hanoi.  Thuy sacrificed her job at Vietnam Jet Travel to work as a cook, a tour-guide, and a caretaker to our guests.

The Name Chezlinhlinh and my small Family:

Ngo Ha Linh, our first daughter was born in 2004, good sister. Her name simply means The Secret River because Ha, the River, like the word Ha Noi and also take the name of my small village Loc Ha, by the bank of Red River where I was born and grew up. We often call her with a nick name; Bong means Gabby, a little gold fish that could live along with my dear wife Thuy (water).

Ngo Gia Linh, our second one was born three years later. She is also a part of our welcoming committee and entertains guests on daily basis. Of course her name is also very special; A Secret to the Family. Her nick name is Tho, or “the Rabbit” which is a special thought that she stays with her father Lam, meaning “forest”.

Ngo Uyen Linh, Our “Happy accident” was born in 2011. She is the most intelligent.

Finally, we spend a few words about ourselves, my wife is Nguyen Thu Thuy she used to work for adoptive agent and 5 years working as a Sale online Manager for travel company. My wife also worked as a tour-guide before we get married, but she has to sacrifice her job for raising our kids.

I’m a tour-guide in both languages; Italian and English, I’m now working for A&K, Cox&King as well as Viaggi Elefante, Mosaico…I love taking photos…and my favorite part of Vietnam is the North West and North East where you could take pictures at breath-taking scenery and mingle with the local ethnic peoples.

The last and very important person is our Sister Bang, she is a great cook at home and also our great maid!

We are not an ordinary Hanoi Home Stay. You will get the best local adventure!
